Reading that people of color have used agroforestry for hundreds if not thousands of years was intriguing to learn. Agroforestry is one of the many concepts being used in regenerative agriculture. Therefore, seeing it used by many different cultures for many years is inspiring that we two could use it for the benefit of the land and people that use it. Having that diversity of plants what the reading mentioned can have many benefits. including but not limited to having a harvest like nuts and fruits to fall back on should one of the other crops fail to things like drought or pests. For me this concept is important for the future of farming and reading about how it was used in Africa only added to my curiosity in how we can implement it today in our so-called modern farms.
